Catholic Charities crisis counselors and case managers have fanned out into the community to aid victims of Hurricane Isaac. We are operating and staffing Camp Hope in St. Bernard Parish, a shelter for Plaquemines Parish evacuees returning from North Louisiana.<\/p>\n

We are present and providing crisis counseling, case management and coordination in 9 additional locations:<\/p>\n

\u2022 St. Joan of Arc, LaPlace<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ascension of Our Lord, LaPlace<\/p>\n

\u2022 Lafitte Town Hall, Lafitte<\/p>\n

\u2022 Hope Haven Cottage, Marrero<\/p>\n

\u2022 Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Bernard<\/p>\n

\u2022 Hispanic Apostolate Community Center, Metairie<\/p>\n

\u2022 St. Anselm, Madisonville<\/p>\n

\u2022 St. Luke, Slidell<\/p>\n

\u2022 North Shore Pastoral Center, Covington<\/p>\n

Catholic Charities is working hand-in-hand with government officials and assisting with data gathering and coordination of supplies and food. We are working closely with our Archdiocesan partners at Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana to coordinate donations and supply meals and food where there is need.<\/p>\n

Staff from our Hispanic Apostolate Community Services is helping process food stamp applications at the Alario Center Disaster Recovery Center where 3000 people have lined up today to apply for help.<\/p>\n

We are also coordinating efforts for a volunteer morning of service for youth in the Archdiocese on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 9 \u2013 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
