\u00a0For Immediate Release: December 11, 2012<\/p>\n

Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond today announced the appointment of Sr. Marjorie Hebert, MSC as interim President\/CEO of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans.\u00a0 Sr. Marjorie will fill the vacancy created when current President\/CEO Gordon Wadge accepted a position with the YMCA.<\/p>\n

\u201cSr. Marjorie joins our staff with many years of leadership experience in administration, education and health care,\u201d said Archbishop Aymond.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with excitement and happiness that I accept the appointment as Interim President and CEO of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans.\u00a0\u00a0I am honored and humbled at the confidence in me\u00a0expressed by Archbishop Aymond in this appointment.\u00a0 I look forward to further developing and promoting the mission of service and outreach to the many men, women and children who are served by Catholic Charities.\u00a0 I hope to use my experience of service and leadership in working with the board,\u00a0the department directors and staff to meet the present and future challenges in serving God’s people,” said Sr. Marjorie.<\/p>\n

Sr. Marjorie most recently served as Vice President for Finances and Operations and Associate to the President for Ministry at Our Lady of Holy Cross College. She entered the order of the Marianites\u00a0 of\u00a0 Holy Cross in September of 1960 and made her Perpetual Profession in August of 1969.\u00a0 Sr. Marjorie is noted for creating the concept, developing and supervising the construction of Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center, a $25 million project.\u00a0 She has served in leadership of her congregation and previously served as a teacher, principal, district supervisor and Superintendant of Catholic Schools.\u00a0 Sr. Marjorie\u2019s appointment takes effect January 2, 2013.<\/p>\n

Wadge has served 33 years at Catholic Charities and previously at the Social Apostolate before the two agencies merged in 2003.\u00a0 Wadge said, \u201cSr. Marjorie is very well respected in the community.\u00a0 She\u2019s a visionary, having had the foresight to develop a facility like Our Lady of Wisdom to meet the needs of our aging priests and religious.\u201d<\/p>\n
