\"\"<\/a>Today, Archbishop Gregory Aymond announced his appointment of Marianite Sister Marjorie Hebert as President and CEO of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans effective immediately.\u00a0 Sr. Marjorie has held the position on an interim basis since January of this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remain grateful to Sr. Marjorie for accepting this responsibility and to the Marianites of the Holy Cross for their support of her ministry,\u201d said Archbishop Aymond.\u00a0 \u201cSr. Marjorie comes to us with much administrative experience in education, health care and community and building and that experience has been and will continue to be a blessing to Catholic Charities and the entire archdiocese.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cServing in this position will give me the opportunity to work with and assist God\u2019s people, and I look forward to that opportunity,\u201d said Sr. Marjorie. \u00a0\u201cWhile very challenging, I know I will find great fulfillment in answering the Lord\u2019s call to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sr. Marjorie is a native to New Orleans having attended Holy Name of Mary School and Our Lady of Holy Cross College where she received a Bachelors degree in Education.\u00a0 She received a Masters in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas and holds an Honorary Doctorate \u2013 Humane Services, Honoris Causa from Our Lady of Holy Cross College.<\/p>\n

Sr. Marjorie joined Catholic Charities after serving three years as Vice President for Finances and Operations and Associate to the President for Ministry at Our Lady of Holy Cross College in Algiers.\u00a0 She is also responsible for the developing the idea and establishing Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center, which she led from its opening in 1997 through 2008.\u00a0 Prior to leading Our Lady of Wisdom she served in leadership of the Marianites of the Holy Cross Congregation and as both a teacher and administrator in Catholic schools.\u00a0 Her community outreach work includes serving as a member and chair of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council, as a member and chair of the board of Lindy\u2019s Place, a nonprofit program serving homeless women, as a member of the Board of Regents of Our Lady of Holy Cross College and as a Eucharistic Minister and Volunteer at Ochsner Hospital Westbank Campus.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease join me in welcoming Sr. Marjorie as President and CEO of Catholic Charities,\u201d continued Archbishop Aymond.\u00a0 \u201cMay God use her and all those with whom she ministers to bring the love and compassion of Christ to those most in need, and together may we build the just society God desires for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
